Marquee (2020)

I created this installation and media series in response to the Indigenous and BIPOC communities gravely affected by the pandemic.  I cite the poem Map to the Next World by Joy Harjo, and voices from women sharing in the "Notes from the Motherfield" series, Kore Press.

A haunting performance to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Bombing of Hiroshima.  Will cellist/performance artist Maria Elena Gaítan.

Draw the World (2001)

Denise Uyehara directed Draw the World in collaboration with 18th Street International Resident Artists Cecilia Wendt (Sweden), Shahid Nadeem (Pakistan), James Lynch (Australia), Eiman Ibrahim (Sudan), and Marcel Schaap (The Netherlands). Audience was invited to help draw the world in 6 minutes, then add refugees, political prisoners and people in exile.
